The Infectious Disease Assay Development Core provides the following services to projects from external/internal academia as well as for-profit clients:

  1. Discussion on screening goals, assays and instrument compatibility.
  2. Primary assay development and optimization.  Selection of protocols and controls.
  3. Validation screening of a small library with a robust optimized assay.
  4. Screening the complete library of compounds (single or multiple compound concentrations, drug combinations).
  5. Data analysis and storage.
  6. Secondary screen development and/or screening of primary hits.
  7. Plating various dilutions of compounds and siRNA libraries.
  8. Hit to Lead optimization screens.
  9. Exploring bioactivity of novel compounds, peptides or purifed natural products for activity in antibacterial (e.g ESKAPE organisms, mycobacterium) panels, anti-viral (e.g Infectious HIV) assays and other mechanism of action assays.
  10. Provide grant support : letters of recommendation, facilty resources, preliminary pilot screening data.
